Could be interesting to consider... or maybe just buy a Henry.

The short 18.5 in barrel on the 357 isn't a fav of mine either.

Other than a fat chamber my 1894 CB with 24 in barrel is perfect. The chamber I just live with.

Not exactly sure what you can get here... better wood? Would anyone care to attempt to rationalize the 1:38" twist that they so stubbornly offer despite (I assume) many complaints? What is the corporate thinking here? Maybe I'm not getting something.

The 1-38" twist was used in the 44-40 shoot light bullets (around 200gr) around 100fps.
The 1-38" twist still works good for cowboy action shooters shoot light bullet low recoil loads.

Yeah, it's just that the choice of 1:38 seems to limit the market to cowboys? Surely the managment must know that there are faster twist barrels available for the same price that would then please other segments of the market, i.e. cast bullet shooters and deer hunters? Might just be me, but it looks like they aren't thinking real hard. The owner of Henry rifles, now there's a guy that wants to hear what shooters want. Remlin might copy a page from his book.

I truly hope the Marlins come back around to the quality they used to be. I'd like to add a few more to my collection.

I don't care if it has a birch stock, just make them as good as they were 30 years ago. Raise the price a couple hundred dollars, whatever it takes, just make them decent again, and make them available. It's a shame we wish now for the mediocre quality that they used to be, when everyone looked down on them as "cheap" guns that were never going to hang with the Winchesters. I don't care how much lipstick you put on a pig, you still get the smell. Hopefully Remington will turn around. Henry is kicking their butts bigtime.

I'm of the opinion that it matters far less how it looks than how it shoots and functions.

I think remington is improving. I picked up a black Friday 308 adl and it is hands down better fit & finish over another one from 6 years ago.

Looked at their 1911 recently and it was better than the last new colt I bought.
