Model 98 / 22 shoots high

My 8X57, Model 98 / 22 BRNO has always shot high.
I don't think this is anything new for military rifles.

I like to shoot my cast bullets at 50 - 100 yards.
I simply needed a taller front sight.
I went though all my Mauser front sights.
I could find many shorter , but none taller.
So, I contacted SARCO and ordered a tall front sight.
It arrived today and I installed it.
May actually shoot low now. Obviously, I've got all kinds of elevation with the rear sight.
I think my problems are history now.

Here is the new front sight :

I bought 2-3 of those in the white a few years ago just in case. IIRC, they will also fit the Nagant.

OTH - I am having to free hand make a higher front blade for my Win 1895 405 Winchester to shoot cast...
