My new grips on my Ruger SP101 357 mag.

I checked the diameters of my cylinder mouths on my Ruger SP 101. The quality control is amazingly consistent on each one of them. The cylinder lock up reminds me of my Colt Officers Model Match ( and that is RARE on anyone's production run revolver made today ).

What size are the throats....the reason I asked is that my 357 LCR has extremely tight throats as do my two 642 Smith's......358 diameter bullet will not enter, readily. Wonder, if this is the new normal. I don't get leading in any of them.

My 357 dia. cast bullets drag and are TIGHT trying to go through the cylinder mouths.

I don't have pin gauges. I'm guessing the throats
are around .3565 " or so ?
Yes, definitely tight.
Of course, I'm still very happy with the way mine shoots.

I don't have pin gauges, either....I'd have to use Rick's......they shoot as well as I can hold.......

Mine doesn't lead and it is
plenty accurate( that's a 2" circle below )
for my intended uses for the handgun.

Again, I'm happy with my revolver.

I have big hands. I take an xlarge glove. But I don't have a little finger on my right hand. So the short grips on all the small guns work for me. But I still like the feel of a grip like that. I am thinking of getting a SP101. I'm partial to the 3 inch model. I want to carry it concealed. I'll have to find a 4 inch and see if that will work.

I'd think the 3" would be better to conceal.
Wish they made the adj. sight model in a 3"
for you, but I don't think they do ? ?

The LCR came with a set of rubber grips already installed still just a little small but it makes for a great backup gun carried in a ankle holster
