Well It has just been too wet and warm here for weeks so on my annual romp on my property to check out the special places where the large Rams Head mushrooms appear each year I found nothing. Usually by now I will have collected a bushel or two.
Today I went in to work for awhile and decided to take a walk in the back of the studio where there is a very old oak tree that gives me a few pounds of Ram's Heads each year. Nothing!
But something bright caught my eye...it couldn't be but it was!
A nice cluster of Chicken of the Woods was attached to the trunk of the tree.
Carefully havested it will now me a few nice meals.....Taste like Chicken! Really!
I alway like posting Fungi for Brad to look at.......;)

When I see that stuff around here on the oaks it's usually a few years old, dry, and hard as a hammer. Our climate is mold-friendly certain times of the year but not fungus-friendly.

My wife likes mushrooms. Might be why she married such a fun guy?
