As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to try it. I can't find any load data so I am going to start with 10.0 of Unique and work up a SR4759 load in .358 Win.

It may become a big disappointment but I will try. It is a pretty bullet, just hope it will shoot. The mag length will be determining factor for OAL.

Plain base bullets will also respond well to American Select, about 8 grs. as a starting point.

Looks kinda like the mother of the 311413 or 365 in PB...nice "nasty" looking bullet sitting in the case..
get some flying and let's know how they do...:)

I got 20 loaded and it is a pretty bullet, we will see if it is accurate soon. I can't shoot them for a while since I have a doctors appt about my injured shoulder. I lubed it with Ben's red and rolled them in BLL too. I used 18.0 grains of SR4759. I used a 1974 Lyman manual for the data.

After a good polishing with a Dremel the nose punch still leaves a ring on the bullet.

Ben,
Thank you for the 24 hr campfire link. There is some good info in that thread. I am going with the 1-12 this time.

It may take buying a 2nd nose punch, but if you coat the tip of the bullet in release agent and fill the degreased interior of your nose punch with JB Weld, you'll end up with a nose punch that won't put a mark on a bullet.

Ben,
I keep JB weld as a staple item in my shop. I will make a new punch tomorrow.
Thanks, Malcolm

PS: Since I have the 358 "fever" and a un-exciting AR308 I am going to talk to Jess about. An AR in 358 sounds exciting to me.

I think before I went there I would snap a few pictures of the AR10 and throw it on Gun Broker...I've had great success using them as have several of my friends..your problems would be over in seven days...rather than months trying to get it to work..THEN you could take the money and buy something like one of Cabela's $400.00 Remington 700's or Savage in .308 and send it off to Jes..seems like a WIN-WIN..and happy days to me....just my 2 cents....:)
