New rifle

Last night I was checking out Brickseek. It shows inventory at certain stores and the prices. Walmart has been clearancing out their firearms. I have been checking out a bunch of the local store inventory and I kept missing out on the deals. They have been having Savage Axis rifles for $49 and then Savage has a $50 rebate on top of that. Ruger 10/22's for $49. And Remington 700 ADL rifles for $99.

I noticed today a store about 60 miles away had a Remington 700 in 3006 for $99 in stock. So we went for a drive. They ended up having two of them at $99. I got both of them spoken for. I had to do the paperwork but Illinoise has a 72 hr. waiting period. So Wednesday I will pick them up.

So check out some of the stores in your area, they might have some really good deals. Just type in something like Savage rifle or Remington rifle. Click on one of the links then type in your zip code in the "check inventory" box.

My son got a pair of the 700 ADL for $199. Brickseek showed a store about 60 miles north with one for $79. My brother went to check it out and they laughed it off, saying they sold out the first day. The saleslady said another store in the other direction had a rack full of them and nobody was buying. I went to that one myself and again they said it was false and they were sold out on the clearance guns. Sometimes I wonder how many get put back till management drops them far enough the employees or their family pick them up.

What you do is have them scan the bar code. It will tell you right there if they have any. You can get the bar code off of brickseek. The other thing you do is get a zipcode farther away from you to see other stores. I am on the east most part of Iowa and I put in Des Moines zip and found some stuff over farther away from me.

How so? None of the people that work at the walmarts in the sporting goods hardly even know what a gun is let alone setting aside guns for friends or relatives.

There are just a lot of other people out there that know this is what they do every year. I have seen videos of guys buying 20 guns, all for around the $49 each price. We went last week to get a 22rf Henry for a young mans first gun this Christmas. It was at one of the stores that said they had a Savage I wanted. It was there but it was being held for the 3 day wait in Illinois. So it still shows in inventory. While we were waiting the store manager tells me a guy came in the week before and had a list of 20 rifles and shotguns. He had the same website I posted. He got 15 of the 20 guns on his list. All were $49-$99 each.

Now I know how these other guys did it. And it is not only guns. It is pretty much everything in walmart. I seen a Milwaukee drill and impact 18v set for $29.95 this spring on there.

I drove about twenty minutes south and found a $99.00 Remington 700 ADL. However it was already spoken for. Better luck next time.

I have been driving all over and running into the same thing. I have my name on a couple for walmart to call me if the people do not show up to pick them up. They will hold the guns for 30 days in states that have a waiting period. Here in Iowa we have no waiting period so if it shows in stock then it is available

Shows how far they are marked up. At least at Walmart. Probably just over what they pay for them.

Our Walmart doesn't carry smokeless firearms only black powder. Every year, after Christmas they blow them out...lowering the prices bit by bit until they are gone. There are usually a series of price cuts, at least three. The sporting good manager at ours put what I was interested in ....in the back room until the final price cut. She then gave me a call. This includes accessories. According to the manager the price cuts and timeing are set by corporate. They are learning though. They are not overstocking as much and there have been fewer items left to be discounted.
I picked up a scoped CVA Wolf for the grandson for $70, and the next year another in Stainless steel for $90. They were also blowing out 777 pellets for $14/box.

I doubt thats what they are paying Tommy. They are just selling off old stock. Kinda a "loss leader". We know they have buying power but its not halfing what other wholesalers pay.

Good on you guys!! ♥️♥️

I know they do not buy from wholesalers. They buy everything direct from the manufacturers. The last place I worked at supplied them with air fresheners for cars and trucks. They would give us a price they would pay and if you wanted to sell to them you took what they offered. This company is not a small one either. I can bet I helped by keeping the machines running to make some of the ones that you all have had in your cars. They would put in a order for say a million items anf they needed to be shipped in 2 weeks. So everything else would have to be dropped and everyone switched over for this order.

Found another 3006 at a different store for $99. Going to take a drive tomorrow. Then another 3 day wait.
