Hello, I,m a fairly new caster of .45 bullets and soon to cast for a .222 rifle. Definitely not spending much for equipment. Propane burner that i've had for years, sometimes use an old Swedish pressure stove for test runs. I have 2 LEE molds and Lyman casting pot and bottom pour ladle.

I started similar on the kitchen stove with a cast iron skillet, a dipper and an iron mold over 50 years ago. You will get excellent info from this web, but strongly suggest you buy a recent copy of Lyman Cast Bullets book. It is sort of a Bible for new casters.

Same here. Cast from an enameled iron pot on my mother's stove top in 1960. The enameled pot is long gone but I still use the same Lyman "dipper" as it was called that cost me around $1.75 at the feed store that sold ammo and loading supplies. That old thing was built to last.;)

don't be scared to jump in and ask or tell.
we can wander a topic to epic proportions sometimes and you gotta remind us what we were talking about...

btw your starting with more than I had.
I was borrowing equipment when I started then worked my way up to a LEE 20lb pot.
that was all I could find locally then wandered into a part of a new G/S and it was like casting heaven.
they had molds, and sometimes lead ingots, and one old guy there [sometimes] actually cast his own stuff.
