I decided to get this one out today and cast a couple of hundred.
Cast round at .3125"
I plan to shoot these in my 30-30 , Rem 788 and my T/C Condender , Super 14, 30-30. Might make a good lead saving super accurate load.

Another nice 30 caliber mould you got there, Ben. Interested in seeing how it shoots. Going to shoot light loads with those?

Jim,

I might start out at about 1,200 fps........but I'll head in the direction eventually of 1,600 - 1,800 fps.

I've shot that bullet keeping it under 1700 fps. Mine is gas checked. Honestly, it has never shot great in a Springfield '06 trying several powders, the best maybe an inch at 50. My buddy, a non-caster, loves it in a couple 30-30's and gets bughole groups. It is a great plinking bullet, parsimonious of lead and easy to make a bunch of. No recoil to speak of so great for grandchildren.

My grandson will need the type of load you describe very soon now.

After trying many different molds in my 30 Carbine I have settled on this mold.
I am shooting at 1900 FPS with WC820 powder.
100% feeding and very accurate.
Mine is GCed....dale
