all my little sister has anymore is short hairs.
I told her they are good for one retrieve a day it doesn't matter if it's a duck or a tennis ball that's all your getting.
she laughed and said when her husband can hit 2 birds in a days shooting they will just get another dog.

Buddy had one in Germany way back. It only takes one beer's worth of time for a GSP pup to chew a Bemmer steering wheel all the way down to the steel core ring!

My last hounds father was a GSH , she sure had his form . Her mother was about a 90# Rot . Talk about a chewer ! Fortunately I was able to keep her in large rawhide chewies and off the boots and chairs .

She didn't like water at all , but was otherwise willing and eager to please . She was too young , taking after her mother , and wild to hunt really well . Her nose would short circuit everything else until she found what she was looking for ....... Quail and chucker using the yard as a through fare and a cottontail warren she spent a lot of time being drug around by her nose .

think I told this one before, but when I was a kid I used to see a guy out duck hunting pretty frequently and he had a pretty big Male Dobie that was his duck dog.
one of the stories I heard in the parking lot was the dog would sit right next to him and only fetch the birds the guy shot, he wouldn't go get anyone else's.

Buddy of mine had a big yellow lab that was way over weight. The guys at his club took a picture of him in a sport canoe, rowing the dog out to pick up a duck he shot. Lol
