The Marlin Cowboy rifles of old are some of the nicest they made. The CBC was one of the best of the best.

Nice rifle Ben.

I've shot a couple of the CL's and would love to own one.
they IMO are the pinnacle of Marlin rifles, and probably the top of the heap as far as accuracy in any lever gun goes.

I wish I could get a rifle with the simplicity and smoothness of a Marlin but with the fit, finish, and quality of a Winchester. Talking lever actions here.
My new Win 92 is a much finer made rifle than any of my Marlins but JMB designed some rifles that have a hitch in their get along. Just not as smooth the cycle as the Marlin.

but it's comforting to hear those clicks when you operate the bolt on the Winchesters.
you know the cartridge carrier is doing it's job when you hear the schlick-schlack.

I need to strip the Win92 down one of these days. See where it is wearing in, clean the action, and lube it. Bore hasn't been cleaned yet either. Only 5-600 rounds fired but it is shooting and cycling well.

I have one 92 I ain't cleaned the barrel on since about 1991.
it doesn't just sit in the closet either.

I won't be shooting any 38s in this rifle. Don't want to build up a ring in front of 38 cases that makes magnums harder to feed and eject. Might be why I just got 1000 new mag cases?

Maybe Mikuru will buy out the rights from Remington's creditors and start making nice Marlins.
Now THAT would be most excellent.
For the level of fit, finish, and details I would pay more. Barrel would be dimensionally correct as would the chamber. Guns would be 800 plus but they would be right from the start.

if they could get them in the 700$ zone they would sell a pile, especially if they done cool calibers like 38-40/44-40/375 super mag/41 mag.

Not sure I've ever seen cleaner and more uniform stamping. As far as barrel machining goes, that target is a great example of, "a picture is worth a thousand words".
