At large, whereabouts unknown.
I still get the brown crap on the pot walls, and clean the pots occasionally with hot water to remove it. I probably aren't fluxing my alloy clean enough when I do my big melts with the propane pot. I do top off my pot with room temp ingots after shutting it down. This is the first time I've heard it referred to as "quenching" though.
