I have the same experience as you. I ended up taking it all back out of my 450 and added more beeswax to the mix. It seemed to fir it up a bit but I have yet to try out the new batch.

Add 10% canning paraffin on top of the the original recipe and it will clear up several issues. Downside is it reduces the heat tolerance even more than it already is. Use storebought taper candles instead of the canning paraffin to retain the heat tolerance due to the Zybar polymer content.

Oh yes, still have some of it in fact. I took half the batch and tweaked it to my liking and temperature needs. The part that worked the best for my location and for revolvers using deep lube grooves involved 10% taper candles and a dash of ATF.

That looks like a hammer.
Yet another project I have to finish up. Not a Siamese Mauser but a bolt gun. It was one of the Enfields built from new parts with the new magazine, 45-70.
The blasted sights won't cooperate. Rear bottomed all the way out and it was still hitting 12-16" high. However those groups were real good ones.

I looked, I will have to either lower the rear,or make a new front. The front was as tall as I ever saw.
Gibbs rifle, but marked navy arms.

File the saddle lower and recut the notch. That's what I did to one of my Swedish Mausers to be able to hit at 100 yards with military copy jacketed loads.

Ben,the sights the put on this thing at the factory were the goofiest looking things I ever saw.
The front sight is probably 3/4-7/8" tall.
The rear is just as bad, base is real high along with the blade being high as well.
Screw spacing didn't match anything for front or rear that I could find. My intentions were to make a banded front sight and try and do something with the rear to dress it up.
Between Bill, everyone here and a tool and die maker buddy of mine, l think I can build one in the near future. Though I may have 30 lbs of scrap and turnings before I am done.
The front barrel band, I figured to make it long enough to be able to use existing screw holes.
The rear, I have some good rear sights are kind here some place I planned on using for this.

Sounds like you have a good plan.
I hope you'll have your rifle zeroed soon.
