Well it was such a beautiful day today that I just had to try and get the most in I could...

After all it's almost Fathers' Day ......and they were asking what I would like to do..

So...first of all while they were sleeping in.... I took off to the range....71 deg., warm sun, 5 knot cool breeze...
as I said absolutely beautiful...

I took the Springfield MK 1 and 20 rounds with me....I had changed the aperture on the rear sight and I wanted to get it sighted in....I have not used the iron sights an awful lot as of yet this year..that will change though.....

I had to use a different range this time because they were working on the closer one..( by 10 minutes or so)..

After having to blow off 6 rounds to find the target ( ended up bore sighting it)..:confused:

I settled down to business.....looks like it might be a good season....

After the range session my wife and I decided to take a walk to the beach..

Wonderful quicksylver, just wonderful. Nice shootin', quality time with the Mrs. Really great!

If only I had a range within 20 mins. of me where I felt comfortable.

I've started extending my celebratory days to weekends. Started celebrating Father's Day yesterday.

Just got through grilling and smoking chicken marinated in Italian dressing, bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp marinated in a olive oil-garlic-chili oil-sesame oil-cayenne pepper marinade.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to manufacture some BPCR 45-70s and smoke a tri-tip and some baby-backs.

So much for making 45-70s. I've got a leaky hot water valve in the back shower and rats attacking Mrs. smokeywolf's strawberries in one of the raised beds. Going to require a trip to Home Depot.

My mother & dad lived at Sun Set Beach, NC which I visited often in the 80's. My favorite though is Avon, NC.

There is something beautiful in every state, but often you have to look hard to find it! There is,
in my opinion, no state more beautiful than Alaska, but quite a few that come in second. You
can see some of the beauty of Alaska as a tourist, but can't really appreciate it until you
have lived there for at least a year and been thru the seasons and climate changes.
