Reloading on the " GO " !

Good idea Ben. Only thing I would add would be a reloading manual he could refer to when nobody is around to ask. Oh, and maybe the formula for Ben's Red.

May start him out with a dipper made for Trail boss.
A double charge is my prime concern with a beginner.
Loading a 38 Spec., it would be very difficult for him to hurt himself or the rifle / handgun using Trail Boss powder.

I was thinking the loading manual would help with actual loading procedure rather than load listings. Something like a Lyman Cast bullet Handbook or maybe a Speer manual, for reference.

The manual is a good idea for beginners, as well as the use of Trail Boss. Some good common sense thought went into these ideas.

I wanted to set up a 20mm ammo can for that but my wife found a plastic case for me. I stuck my nose up but after checking it out i set up temporarily (2 years ago).

It's not very impact resistant but had a good hinge and though i don't trust the latches they do lock in tight. I run a adjustable double D-ring belt thru handle and around the case for travel. I travel doing construction and it gave me something to do and we had ammo for the weekend or when ever i get back. Here it is partially ready to go.

I keep components in a another small box but do store primers in this.

Nice looking cases. I am in motels and have a hand press that I keep in the box and do specific tasks with. I can see the need for a more general duty item especially since 5th wheel itis is around 15 months away.

My apologies for reviving an old post, BUT this ties in directly with a current thread AND it is something many could benefit from.

May I nominate this for placement in "Threads of Note" for those reasons?

Ben pointed me to this today, and now I remember having seen it - before I started thinking this seriously about putting such a kit together. I know we all have our own ideas on such a thing, but Ben's setup is well thought out and comprehensive, which would serve as a great basis for anyone else to customize to suit their own ideas. Right off the bat, Ben answered several questions I had about Lee's "Breech-Lock" system and the addition of the Lyman ram-prime answered resolved the dilemma of whether to put my only hand-prime unit in the kit.

I have a 310 set up for .22 Hornet. I need to go see Dad and get him to show me how to use it.

Funny about my Dad, he's 86 and getting foggier by the day. We went to a small gun show a few months ago and I was looking at a 310 set up and he explained to me how it works and what you needed to do and pointed out a part that was missing all in very great detail, but he can't remember who came to see him the day before. Weird how the human mind works sometime.

I did get a Pacifc "Pak Kit" for .218 Bee, haven't really looked at it but was intrigued. They didn't get real popular, it seems.

I'm going to put together a setup like this for deer camp. Anyone know if those Lee lock bushings are still available in ferrous metals? The Aluminum bushings they came out with are just not good enough.
