Revolver from scratch

This is a lengthy series of videos. I was fascinated as she makes a single action revolver from scratch. Makes the screws, springs, rifles a barrel, and even makes her own chambering reamer.

Way beyond my abilities but it doesn't mean it isn't interesting to watch. I love seeing the layout and how it all comes together.

Keep in mind that John Browning took the BAR with no spare parts, exactly 1 rifle and he cut it out with a belt drive lathe and a drill press to go with his files .

Yes a scratch SAA etc is well beyond my skill set also. A match lock on an existing bbl is beyond my skill set.

Holy Cow! THAT is a lot of work, but it looks (after only watching about 30 min worth)
like a really serviceable and nicely made revolver. Looks like the hand was short at first,
on first test firing she cocked the hammer and then had to bump the cyl around a bit.
Second shooting sequence, it was fixed.

Impressive shop and shop skills for ANYONE, and most women are not interested in or
capable of doing this.

Well done to the lady.

well that only killed like 5-1/2 hrs of my day.
I'm pretty sure that is exactly why I am not allowed any tools like that.

Would be itneresring to know how long the entire project took. Bet it was a good weeks work. Or more.

I'd bet each video was at least a day's work.
I could see a couple of places where she could have saved some time.
and I'm pretty sure I would have been making 4-5 pieces, each set-up is the time consuming part.
swapping in a new piece and repeating the motions wouldn't have taken that much longer.

A bandsaw would help too, cutting out the grip frame would have been far faster.

I am just in awe of a person having the moxie to even try. And making the springs, barrel, and chamber reamer are very impressive.

I am seriously impressed by her skills, and how she treated the tools for the most part.
I could tell by watching and listening to her she was taught quite a bit by her Dad.
