Here you go Malcolm. Like I said it is made of whatever junk I had laying around to see if it would work. Call it the prototype. So far it is working better than I expected. Saves on fatigue and actually makes it easier to keep consistent. I already have some improvements in mind. For instance, this design has to be on the edge of the bench or you would have to drill a hole for the rod. I will improve on the next one. I have time, this one is working.

The pictures are self explanatory. I didn't write in dimensions, it would vary with your particular junk that you use.

Overall view. I was working on some 31141's this afternoon:

Here are couple of views of the 1" angle and the mold shelf:

Last is a side view of the foot pedal itself. You can see how I attached a piece of the glider to one side of the hinge. I also attached the hinge ass'y to a 2x4 screwed to the side of the bench to keep it in place.

Be sure to mount your pot to the bench to keep it from tipping over. There is enough leverage to accomplish that!

If you make one, please post some pics!

This is a very good idea. I think I would have used a piece of cable over a small pulley though. Have a loop in the cable to go over the handle, and then you can take it off easy if you want to take the pot somewhere to clean it or something.

Thought about the cable, but the pot will lift straight up off the pushrod and is less obtrusive to me than something over the pot.
