Basically a heads up,and it is sort of a project being as it isn't a complete tool,as is.

Google it.Shows as discontinued on Midways site.I got ours from Brownells years ago.

More often than not,it's our go-to for sharpening Tig tungsten's.BUT,it is the smack down for a hunting knife, and shop knives....

You will need a smallish elec. motor to drive it.The beauty is two fold...or 3 fold? The belts pop on/off since it's an expanding style drum. One for tungsten, one for general purpose.

Look at the Google pics carefully, the internal drive holes are such that it's harder/softer depending on orientation.

Was hittin a cpl skinning knives for my boys today and figured ya'll might be interested?

Oh,and this is coming from an,Ekstrom Carlson shop....pneumatic sanding equipment.Which is also worth every penny.

Edit to add, cause its too weird...Billy Gibbons showed up today. The "oldest" hooked him up.Back to regular programing...

Ours came from Brownells. But they also are on eBay.Lapidary folks use them.

Can't remember exactly "why" we got it.Obviously for sanding, more than likely knives.Which it does very effectively. We have a slew of sanding machines/belt grinders. We don't make knives....but do supply exotic wood "drops" to guys who do,from our bow building efforts. If anyone on this site is building knives, get them in touch with me.

We also have a few synthetic drops, not nearly as much.Typical American hdwood drops end up in the shop furnace or campfires....Black Cherry,Walnut,Maple etc.

Reckon they could be useful for handgun stocks(grips)? We've made some but rarely. Will say, sheet metal templates work nice, along with a knee mill. Our shop has pretty sophisticated DC (dust collection)...we roll our own fittings. But there isn't any in the machine shop for wood. So,making stocks in there gets my dust anxiety level pegged, haha.
