Still in waiting mode

Posted in another thread a few weeks ago about buying the adjoining acre to my place. Still waiting on the closing date, just talked with the realtor and the property is being sold as part of an estate sale and the title company is waiting on the signatures of two spouses that are required for a free title. He says there isn't a problem, people are out of state and waiting on the USPS to return the forms.

Here is the property looking south west right on the west corner of my place.

Get it at a decent price?

Kind of ok for what acreage goes for around here, nothing to brag about but ok. The real value is that there are no houses on it and now there won't be. Plus should I ever sell this place it will increase the value of my place by a good bit more than what I paid for the additional acre.

Always good to have a buffer.
Will it work as any sort of a range or addition to what you may already have?

Sadly no, the lot's in this area are from 1 to 5 acres, still to many homes around for that. On the bright side John (Winelover) lives less than 15 minutes from me and he has right outside his back door a 100 yard range as part of his 57 acres.

My real estate agent called again late yesterday afternoon with the update that there isn't a new update. Say what? He says he's trying to get hold of the lawyer that's handling the estate sale. I asked him if he's trying to get in touch with an attorney have you tried the golf course? With a three day holiday weekend isn't anything gonna happen with it till at least Tuesday, probably longer if the lawyer is still smacking a little white ball around. At least the real estate guy is staying touch in and not just letting it hang.

sometimes these things just take some time.
if a lawyer is involved they take even longer for sure.

They bill by the hour, including phone calls while they are on the golf course or the 19th hole.
