IMG_0618.JPG IMG_0620.JPG IMG_0621.JPG IMG_0622.JPG Going to try this new Super with a Bushnell 3500 Elite 2x6 scope. Not that a variable is needed but I may swap it over to my contender once I'm done. Throats are a tight .431. Tight enough that a round loaded with .43180 bullet will not chamber. I included a picture of the pc'd bullet as well as a naked one so it shows the amount sized above the crimp groove. The picture of the two rounds in the cylinder are the .431 chambered and the .43180 a no go. Without a pound cast to verify I feel the bullet is in the throat. I may be wrong. Shooting tomorrow. Bullet is the NOE 432-640.

Did you see the pound cast Brad made in his SRH? Check out the amount of gap from the end of the case to the throat. Given that how much bearing surface front band is actually in the throat making contact? All of the rest of your throats are full of air.

My revolver needs at least .150 ahead of the crimp to have any meaningful throat contact.
My revolver wears a Weaver 2-8 scope. Works very well and handles recoil well enough.
Give those a go and let us know how they shoot.

Ran 50 rounds through the SRH today. First cylinder full looked like a shotgun pattern. Started to settle down after that. I do need to get in the shop to build a solid bench. Paper plate was the last group fired. All at 25 yards sighting in and getting a feel for her. I did take some measurements with pin gauges like Brad did. My results show .109 taper and throats .399. Have not checked the older SRH yet. Casting session tomorrow so I will do the pound cast. Always something! Sorry pictures won't load.

Once you get it figured out you will be amazed at what you can do with that revolver.

I come up with brass length of 1.3425. I imagine I would have to back off a bit. Probably will need to do what Brad is attempting.

I can run brass 1.337 into my chambers with trouble. With a bullet seated it goes in and out of the chamber fine so I will run them there.
