In every generation, there are men and women who will indeed "Walk the walk" for the US. They are not great athletes, or geniuses or any other different personality. Americans should realize that we have the largest volunteer military in the world. These men and women defend us because they believe in our country and each of us as citizens. God bless them all.

Thank you for your services .
Thank you for the thanks for my kids service .

It does take a certain something to serve and made it home in the same condition as they left mentally and physically .

I don't think anyone I know who served a deployment made it home in the same condition. Some better, some worse, some not at all, but forever changed in some way; that's part of the "sacrifice".

Everything in life changes us . I meant that in the more vague net sort of way , the combat veteran is never the same most have a brutally hard line nobody should ever cross . Some go humble and come home Friday night Honky Tonk and some are just the opposite . I've known a lot that were just ol' Joe but had that point . Too many come home ....etc etc . The youngest boy has been home 6 years he doesn't go out , doesn't have friends beyond a circle of trust , and probably shouldn't ever be in anything resembling a customer service job . I suspect he stepped in something over there . Hot powder and BBQ are a guaranteed shut down , lock out , cocked and locked , don't make any sudden moves , 4 alarm red alert status trigger for him . I don't question it when the phone rings at 0300 and he knows I'll answer or call back asap .
My Navy daughter doesn't cuss like a sailor she sets new standards . When they gave her the choice of Washington state Pacific Fleet or discharge she opted out , appearently reocovery duty on the Reagan at Fukashima has some colors she would rather not paint with any more . It's all good and aside from some opinions about racists and religious association that result in explosive sailorese .

The oldest boy is 12th Cav on his way to 3 up with a new 4 yr after his first 6 . Been over and back , carries himself like me now . Proud of his Stetson and gold sabors and spurs . Same kid otherwise except he's 34 now .

My hat's off to all of you, especially for the continuing "technical support", which may be the most important of all and so many don't even know how to ask for it much less have family or other resources to turn to.
