Tikka T3 30-06

I have this rifle in a Hunter model that is a beautiful rifle and I need to know if it's possible to increase the trigger pull. By that I mean can the force needed to fire the rifle i.e. trigger pull pressure be increased? I tested the trigger pull with my RCBS trigger pull gauge and it is a consistent 2# pull (measured it 5 times). I'd like to increase it to 3.5#.

I’ve never done it myself (never owned a Tikka), but I found this nice, instructional video that might help

Good luck! Sounds like a very nice rifle. And I agree, 2 pounds is to light for field use (for me- fingers are typically cold and numb when hunting)

Worked like a charm. Tikka is kinda interesting as far as pedigree goes. Manufactured by Sako in Finland under the Tikka name and then later sold to Beretta. Supposed to be guaranteed a 1 M.O.A. rifle out of the box.

Tikka used to be a separate factory. Then they were bought by Sako, until the whole operation was bought by Beretta.
The Tikka T3 is a really good construction, especially if you want a rifle for a long action cartridge. I bet that trigger is nice!

It actually is very nice; crisp break and no creep. That said, I'm going to have to sell the gun because I have bigger WANTS! I'm going to buy a Mill. Looking at a PM 25V with DRO.

Yeah......giving some thought to another 30-06 here. The one now on staff is a WONDERFUL cast bullet rifle for which I have a Lyman steel aperture sight laying in a drawer doing nothing. The rifle now wears a Leup 3x-9x scope, which I would remove to place on a Tikka T3 or Bergara 30-06. The steel Lyman sight would return to the Husqy Mauser 98 in order to campaign it in the 400 yard long range match at NCBS this year. I might try it in the group and score matches as well. The Tikka/Bergara would be my Condor Cuddler Barnes Bullet Blaster for deer season, along with my iron-sighted 30/30 or scoped 6.5 x 55 (Ruger 77R). When in Rome......

Hated to do it, but I listed the Rifle on A List, probably get a bunch of scammer responses. Anyone have any ideas as to where'd be the best place to list a firearm? PM me with suggestions, thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion 462; I checked over there and while they have some listings, most are by Pawn shops and FFL Dealers. It did give me perspective as to how to price my gun.

The advantage of GunBroker is that 20 times more people will look at your ad than on any other site. Which is why pawn shops and dealers use that site, they want to sell stuff. FWIW

I have had a 22-250 T3 Hunter since they were introduced. The long action doesn't bother me a bit. Lightweight and super accurate. For my 50th birthday my wife gave me one in 25-06 and later still I found a rare 8x57mm T3. All three are sub moa if I do my part and the 8mm was brilliant with cast. The angle cut hard recoil pad is the only problem they have- I corrected that with a Hogue pad on the 25-06. They pioneered the stock mounted recoil lug/ action slot bedding system and it works.

I looked at a T3 in SS/composite, .308 yesterday. Sweet. Was told it was a 1-11" twist. Might have to bring that home soon.
