Universal and the 44Mag

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Going to try out some Universal in the 44Mag with my Accurate 431250V. 9gr. is my starting point. Very close to Unique on the burn rate charts. I had about three pounds laying around and until now I've only loaded my RCBS SAA-270
In my Evil Roy 45Colt. 8gr for that load. My brother and I just bought an 8lb jug of Universal and an 8lb jug of H4895. This universal should cover all mid range loads in my 38/357, 45acp, Colt. 44....
Hope to test some this weekend.

You will like ,it been using it for years.

If memory servers, 7.5 grs in the 45 colt with a 255gr. Cast Bullet.

7.5 to 8.5 in the 44 with a 240 gr.CB.

Both tack drivers, the 44 can be loaded down from 9 grs for a more acc u rate load, MO.

Those look good, Walter, now go punch some holes!

7.8 grains of Universal is my go-to .45 Colt load under an Accurate 45-255. Clean and fairly consistent. 8.5 grains of Unique makes slightly better groups and is less position-sensitive in the case, but not enough more so to be worth the smoke, filth, and mess when it comes to recreational shooting. For .44 Magnum I fell in love with 2400 powder and never looked back.

Haven't loaded much of it, but what I have shot was pleased with. Nice looking loads. Will have to try that 45 Colt load Ian.

I am a Unique fan. Use it for everything. Literally every handgun I load for.
It's pretty close to Universal with Universal maybe being a tick faster.
9.0 grains of Unique gives about 900 FPS with my LBT 280 grain GC WFN and is very accurate and easy to shoot.
Same load with my RCBS 44-245-KT runs about 950 FPS and is also very accurate. This is my standard plinking load with the 44 Mag.
I've got an 8 lb. jug of Universal that I need to try.
I'm anxious to see your results.
