Yikes.
Don't lose them in the grass......

For what you are doing they are worth it. Every penny.

They are pricey. Were I a long-range shooter I would use them. Wait... I'm a woods-range shooter and I use them. My hunting setup uses the best I can afford. I probably don't need to, but it's the idea of it. I hunt hard and it matters.

Well I really have nothing on the line. I'm just trying to bang steel at 1800 yards. It is fun though.

I can't even imagine shooting at 1800 yards. Best I could do is half ass guess and lob them in like mortar shells, maybe get lucky. I bet it is a LOT of fun though.

With the bullet and powder cost factored in the brass needs to be up to snuff. The 338 isn't cheap to load and I'm pretty sure Waco factored in the component cost.

I don't have a place to shoot that far.

The Eastern part of Oregon is pretty open. I could shoot out to 2 plus miles at my current shooting spot. I'm still trying to get proficient at 1760.

Set up targets each outing or are they left in place?

I knock them down and leave them laying there year round. Nobody ever goes out there. Pretty remote....

So a .358 Win. shooting 250 RN at 2250 sighted for 150 yards drops how far at a mile? Oh, using a 2.5X scope. No Billy Dixon shots for me, I'm afraid.

I admire what you are doing.

Lugging them home each time would get old.
Looks pretty remote. Camp setup for a temp home? Doesn't look like a day trip kind of place.

Does look like a place to hunt too.

Oh my! Beautiful Eastern Oregon! Too bad it is so heavily populated. Last time I drove from Condon to Hepper I saw two other pickups!

I'm with you on that one! 500 yards seems like a loooooong way to me.
