Redding cautions against using any of their BR type comp seaters with cast. The reason is that the sleeve that holds the bullet in alignment is supposed to have tight tolerances. I guess there are exceptions to everything because I just looked over my notes and I do use the Redding comp die for 308 with cast.

I don't think the Forster dies are quite that tight.

I have/had several Bonanza/Forster dies, 22Horn, 222rem, 243win, 30-06, 375H&H, a recent purchase of a second 222rem and a 7mm STW that I hope to modify for 257Rx6.5, the gun takes a fat bullet (.270).

ANYWAY, two of them (243 and 375) were too small for the cast bullets I wanted to use...I honed/polished the 243 seater to work with .2455" bullets and the 375 gun was sold at my auction, Dies were sold shortly afterward.
