the RCBS silhouette bullets will zip right through most anything you care to shoot with them.
the 145gr silhouette bullet will easily go through 18"s of dried pine and leave a dust trail behind it at a sedate 1900 fps.

i know the LEE soup can shoots pretty darn good on top of 5 grs. of red-dot in most any of the cases smaller than the 7 mag. that you care to try it in.
yeah sounds anemic,,, but it'll cary 100yds. no problemo.

You want some penetration ?
I bet this NOE cast bullet would shoot through 2 deer if they were lined up.
It shoots just as well as it looks ! !
With a gas check and lube, mine weigh 183 grs.
They shoot great out of my two 7X57mm rifles.
Remember that the 7X57 earned its great reputation with bullets of similar weight.

I have one of those older RCBS molds I haven't cast with yet. Hoping it'll be a shooter in my long throated 7x57 pictured.

The NOE came in Yesterday & the shooters said the LEE would arrive tomorrow.

I got the 132g.

I had some tarnish. But first cast had sags. I cast with it over a hour on off & couldnt stop it. So Im pretty sure it was not seasoned & probably never used much.
I let it set on hot plate about a hour. It came around ta useable. Only to improve. I just cast a couple ta see. Im waitin on sizers and gas checks.

Whats the seating depth you guys like for this soup can?

My brass is a wisker short. ( re formed) but seating to second lube groove seems short & of coarse chambers perfectly. Seating to third looks correct/ appropriate and will chamber/extract. But is touching inside i assume throat/rifling. But dont see rifling. See solid smuge mark. ( throat)

I know it will shoot fine either way. Im gonna try longer as engaged cast usually shoots better.

But wondered what have you seen as preferred?

NOE mold dummie has crimp groove. Seating there gets same slight crush fit i yo chamber. But extracts fine. You can see "smudge".
