Any Loverin Lovers Out There ?

The first bullets I try in a .30 caliber rifle are the 311466, the Saeco 315, and the RCBS 30-165Sil. The first is a Loverin, and the second is sorta-kinda-vaguely Loverin-looking if you squint a little bit.
I'm not sure why, but that's all I have for Loverins (or similar).

The 311466 almost always does well, but that Saeco 315 is my "can't fail" bullet. It is almost always the most accurate in every rifle.

So yeah, I guess I do like 'em.

Can't argue with that, Ben. Moreover, you can include me as a fan of Loverin designs too as they're easy to get to shoot well IF they fit the bore well. Ly. #311466 and Saeco #315 were exceptionally accurate in my Marlin .30-30Win. (Microgroove; .310") and K-31's (.309").

The 315 for me is the gold standard in 30 cal.

I'd have to say that's the last mould I would let go.

I wouldn't mind seeing that same basic design made in about a 200 grain. Might as well ask for a 150 also. No good reason other than to cover most of the .30 spectrum.

Even more, I'd like to see the design in several other calibers. That style in .22, 6.5mm, 7mm, .35, .375, and .45 rifle would be like a dream come true.
I'd ask for HP too, but don't know if I could take it.

Have you seen this .22 cal. mould.
I have it.

You said you'd like a .30 cal. at 200 grs. Here it is :

I forgot about the Eagan designs when I posted that. I forgot about seeing that on the NOE site too. I need one. Thanks.

And the Accurate mould, its close, real close.

I hope your right Ben. I just loaded 5 rounds tonight for a first test run with the NOE 315 copy. I can only use the lower three grooves for lube. Those empty top three are going to take some getting used to. Seems like they would hold alot of snow in those empty grooves if a guy dropped one. ;)

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
On the subject of Loverin design a friend sent me home with a few moulds to sell for him, among which are a couple of the 311467. One a 2 cavity a one a single cavity. The single is a hollow point version, which appears to be factory. I cast a few with it today, casts very nicely, a little sticky on one half {maybe a small burr} but other than that great. after my bullets cooled I measured the diameter of a couple, .313-.314 on the lower bands, using a 50-50 alloy. Not to small to be sure. Pretty bullet, weighs 176 grains. Just thought I would share with you folks.

313 " is just fine..........Problem is when they cast at .3085 ".

You can always size them down.

Went shopping for a SAECO #315 online this afternoon in 2-cavity form. 1 at Graf's, none at MidwayUSA for about a month. Got a few other places to check tomorrow, sure wish I could get all the stuff I need at ONE SITE and not have to buy from 3-4 sites to fill an order.

I'd like to do that at one gun shop.
small pistol primers here, bullets for the 6mm one place and 110gr 30 cals at another, and powder somewhere else.
i think I spend more money on gas than I do on components sometimes.

Living on the back side of the boondocks from everything, I shop on line for the hardware. I went looking for 4 items finding 2 here ,2 there ,3 another place . 1 place had all 4 items the shipping was less than splitting the order but 3 of the items were $1-4 more and 1 item $2 less . It came out a wash on the money . 1 of the vendors shipping was way high.
When I get to the big city I buy the expendables when I can . Having a dozen or more toy stores and 3 of the 5 major outdoor stores and an upstart that I expect to give them hell it's rough to get the best buys every time. Regional sales etc . I still try to buy all in 1 place but it seems even in Reno 1 place will be out or unable to stock an item and another will be flush running over .
Ms doesn't let me "just run in and look real quick" any more so she gets to try it on too.

Not in the boondocks at all, but nevertheless most of my casting and reloading stuff comes in the BBT (Big Brown Truck). Stores stocking interesting hobby items for Cranks Like Us in this area are few and far between.

Al,

Have you ever checked out Angeles Shooting Ranges Reloading Store? The entire store is dedicated to reloading. No loaded ammo, no firearms. Reloading. If your looking for a particular powder call first before driving. 818-899-2255

Angeles Reloading Store

No molds but tooling, powder, primers etc. When they first opened they did start stocking RCBS molds but soon found out the vast number of molds needed to cover even basic calibers was overwhelming.

You bet I have, Rick. I shoot there 2-4 times a year, and NEVER leave empty-handed at the end of a session. This store was one of those I had in mind when I made the earlier post, along with Halbrook's in Fontana. Not sure if Berman's & Sons is still in business in San Bernardino--they provided my first-purchased bullet moulds c. 1981. They do show a DBA of "California Wholesale Company" now, they like others locally (Coburn's) have gotten away from retailing to end users. Given the %$#@ of selling guns and components in California, I can't say I blame them.

When the Loverine is placed in the correct setting, good things happen.
