Anybody using the 315 in .30-30?

It has piqued my interest Lamar. This is the cleanest I've seen SR4756 shoot in anything, but I'm comparing it to shotguns, sooooo, not really fair. The truck was a little downhill and was using a coat under the forearm for a rest. It's a project rifle that had a hard life. We'll see if I can get it into "truck rifle" category.

GC. I originally got the mould and alloy to use in a .30-06, at @ 2150 Fps loading. Rifle didn't like it and I found a load it did with the NOE 195- Fp, which I took a doe with this last season. Neither are written in stone yet, just trying to see who is happy where.

The #315/30-30 combination sure looks like a happy marriage!
I have a NOE #315 clone, that drops both gc and pb. You’ve inspired me to try it in a 30-30, will do!

I’ve found this bullet to be very accurate in my 30-06 guns, but it does not seem to like loads much beyond 18- 1900fps with traditional lube.

try for the 2150 in the 30-30.
I think you'll see why the cartridge is so popular with bullet casters.

I have a 325 I picked up when I bought a Ruger tang safety in 250 Ackley improved.
I figured it would be a good companion to the 340, but haven't shot it too much yet, I do remember it not firing on one or two cases when I took it out so it probably needs some gunk removed.
or it didn't like whatever primers I was using.

Lamar,
I've got my levers going 1850 ish with the dimple point Ranch Dog. It does well, so I wanted my .30-06 bolt to get in the 2150 range for a bit flatter round for slash shooting. This 325B is going to be a beaver/truck rifle, and 173 gr at 1400 is plenty. If it gets stolen while I'm out checking traps somewhere, oh well. I only have $30 in the SR 4756, and the .30-06 wasn't crazy about the 315 at 2150, so I found a home for two orphans. Win win.
The 315's were sized to .310 also and my levers (marlins) like .311.

I'd be pretty upset if my 340 or 325 come up missing.
maybe not near as upset as if I lost my Bergagra, but a lot more than if I lost most of the Arisaka's.

the 0-6 will do 2150 no problem, [and beyond] but it's a matter of fitment and pressure rise more than just hoping something will pair up well and work.

Yep, got the .30-06 at 2150 now with the Noe 195- Fp, posted the pictures this last fall here.
I'd probably be going to jail if somebody stole my 336 SS and I caught them. Kinda partial to that one.
