Ar15 and cast

Maniac, yes I remember. I sure miss my pal, Felix. I still talk to his son occasionally, and he's even come to my club for a few matches.

I've been actively hand loading and casting for 50 years, and I'm still learning! You know, the old dog and new tricks thing!

My son lives in Colorado and is just now getting interested in loading. He and his family will visit in May when school for the boys gets out. I'm sure we'll be doing some loading lessons then. And, I'm sure he and the boys will try to empty the ammo locker while they are here! Sure would be nice if we were closer.

One more thing on the AR. If you opt for one of the 30/7.62 uppers, I can send you some bullet samples and suggest a few loads. Also, a 7.62x40WT (Wilson Tactical) with 1:12 is an option.

I just looked at 300hmr,,seems it a wilson thing.intresting although expensive.

My youngest moved to dallas, his mech engineering degree, allowed him to escape maine, happy for him,but miss him as well! There is a shooting range real close to him,but he hasnt visited yet.up here,we shoot on our own land, and there, hes going to have to do the people thing, and all the dumb shit that comes with urban living.
I miss asking felix about some benchrest question,,he would respond in a mad scientist way, that just plain made sence!
Im still shooting his lube,,dont know any better, aint had no troubles in 20 years,,see no need to change.
I wish the other site was like it started out ,so enjoyable,,now its different.i landed here, and this site reminds me of the good ol days!!

By the way.. I have several hundred .
.224 sized powder, coated, 61 grain.
Plain base Elvis bullets left.
The Supply shortage happened before I got a chance to go with any other powders but H335. I accomplished better then what I had expected with that powder in an 18" 1/8 twist barrel.
I have since lost interest and moved on to other things.
If someone would like to play with those, I'd be happy to send them gratis.

I still have the mould dies sizers and the alloy. Keeping those. And keeping back about 200 bullets.
In case I want to try that bullet in another format . Or pick back up where I left off.
But the leftover bullets for now, are up for grabs.
