I now have a removable splint. I can shower without it, a huge step forward.
I can work but writing will be a bear. Gonna slow me down a bunch.
Lefty handgun groups are a possibility, at shorter ranges. My wife and daughter hate it when I shoot one hand lefty as I usually outshoot them. Apparently it makes me an ass. Now I have a reason to do it!

Good news indeed. Now to teach your family to keep you away from power tools.

I did. I have escaped injury for many years doing work like this. Might have just been my turn?
Face it, casting and shooting are far safer than work around the house!

Brad,
This all didn't happen because you went to that "Home Show" did it? Shows like that give folks dangerous Ideas!
Sure glad it wasn't as bad as all of the "Happened to me" posts you had to read through:rolleyes:
Heal quick!

Yah Ben, I am not much good around the house, and Brad is right, hammers and screwdrivers are not my friends.

If i even pick up a wrench my knuckles start bleeding. Kind of sad too as i like to try and maintain my own equipment, but i seem to come out on the short end with loss of skin when i do lol.

On the other hand my mechanic can do it all day with no misshaps...i'm convinced it's an art form and i stand in awe of him.

Great news RE the diagnosis on your fracture.

Mine was bad enough that on my last visit, the surgeon told me, "When I first saw your xrays I thought you might end up with 65% mobility; now I think 95%." I was crazy lucky to have shuffled the deck and drawn him.

Very happy yours was not so bad.

Oh! Keep your hands away from fast spinning chucks.;)

My hands are very aware of fast spinning chucks. Lots of respect there.

Hey, Brad? Don't do that, it hurts. Nobody else said it, so I felt it imperative to do so.

I'm glad you don't need surgery; hopefully it heals fairly quickly

Glad no surgery is needed! Take care of it. I cut off the end of my right flipper finger 12 years ago just missed the last knuckle. It is now half again bigger than flipper on left hand, but way tougher. Scars are good reminders.

Soooo...

Years back when I had just started using a 1/2" angle drill for work, I was standing on the top of an 8' ladder drilling down through a block of wood, when the bit caught a nail.

Seeing that the drill was just below waist height, the drill came around and caught me square in the groin.

Hit me so hard, the ladder got knocked out from under me, and I had to grab onto something to keep from going with it.

So I'm hanging there, trying to figure out whether I want to live or die, but I decided that I needed to get my revenge on that bloody drill.

Anyways, I've had my hands crushed by them many times, but it never again got me where it really hurts!
