Good news. You may be surprised at the loss of strength in such a short period.
I wouldn't be testing any 300 gr .44 Mag loads with full charges of H110 any time soon,
either.

No heavy handgun loads for a month or so. I need to get some strength back first. Just using a hand stapler at work will take getting used to. Will be nice to be back to my old poor penmanship instead of scrawl written with a thumb and forefinger. My techs didn't think my writing could get worse, they were wrong.

Yeah. I have broken an amazing number of bones over the years and have become somewhat of
and expert on the topic, unfortunately. I asked my orthopedic surgeon, after he had spent a good
bit of time pinning and screwing the upper end of my femur on back in '99 --- "Gee, doc, I have had
so many broken bones (he had been fixing them since '81, so had a partial list) over the years, are
my bones weak or brittle or something?" He literally laughed out loud. "No, I can absolutely verify
that your bones are stronger than average after spending a lot of time drilling holes and putting in
screws. Not weak! Hard as heck! A pain to drill." Well then why do I seem to break so many? Doc laughed
out loud (literally), and said "These are all very high energy events! You do too much wild stuff, I would say."
"Oh".

So - it will be amazingly weak for a while. Did he give you any workout bands? Don't know if you
sell them at work, but a LIGHT bunge or rubber sheet wrapped around a doorknob and do horizonatal
exercises to start to build it back up. If you had been down for full 6 wks it would be much worse, but
if you work at it, it will come back in about 1-2 wks, but it does take work.

Overall, breaking bones sucks. Been there, done that, got the scars and T-shirts, both.

Glad to hear your hand is coming along. Do your PT, religiously. They are releasing me from PT, three weeks earlier, than the knee I had done in November. Probably because the PT on that one ran almost up to the surgery of the other. Strengthening the muscles, more than likely resulted in faster recovery time.

Yeah, the new and improved "and taller" Winelover is getting around pretty good all ready.

And Brad, lesson to be learned here. Add to the list of things that never work.

Drinking and driving.
Drugs and life.
Brad and power tools.

I'd prefer to say "Brad and Home Improvements" don't go together, a point Dawn probably won't see as clearly as the rest of us, though. I have a pretty sweet little push-through sizer die that says Brad and power tools can be a good combination. $#!% happens sometimes.

Been there done that too many times....oooooch!

Ever notice how plumbers and electricians brace the drill against something when they use a large hole saw.....now we know why

You'll be better by the time the really good weather gets here..hang in there..

Best wishes for quick return to full strength. You were off shorter than usual, so it
should come back more quickly.

Breaking stuff is no fun.
