First time powder coating

I don't use dessicant. It's humid as heck here much of the year and my shop collects moisture due to lack of soffit vents. When I run a batch it's usually raining and outside chores are on hold. If the powder doesn't want to stick I shake harder, never had a problem except with matted or the colors generally known not to coat well with the shake/bake method of application.

I maintain that static electricity isn't the principle mechanism at play to adhere the powder, it is physical impingement that embeds powder into the bullet's surface, then more can easily adhere to the base coat via static cling. The longer I shake, the thicker the coat. If I just swirl the bullets they get dusty but not really coated.

Periodically I will sift out the bbs and dump the residual powder/lead dust/copper flakes out and start fresh. I do this about every 15-20 batches.
Humidity has proven to be such a small issue for me. I Powder Coat in my garage and too many times I do so in the heat if the summer ir days it rained. YES it makes a slight difference but truthfully give it a second thought.

KEEP THE RAW POWDER DOUBLE BAGGED AND SQUEEZE OUT ALL AIR.

USE SMALL AMOUNTS IN THE "shake container" (LESS IS MORE)

After a few uses dump it out and clean container and start over.

I cast and coat ALLOT. It really isnt a issue for me. WHEN IT IS, I see its something I have done or changed. Sometimes ta need to swirl/shake a little longer.

Ya need remember NONE OF THE POWDERS are i tended to work like this. ALL are designed to be sprayed. So some are better then others. Also as noted some colors are just a problem like Yellows and Pinks. Tge Blue Purple Green seems much better across the board. Also sparkled "apples" and Metallics can be problematic.

All day long at 100. Only shot 6-8 at 400, was keeping them on a rectangle silhouette by aiming at an imaginary point about 4-5' high.

Suppressed, 18" barrel, plastic lower with 6-position stock and tube, fed from the magazine, cold clean barrel start. Military brass 1F in a machine gun, no special prep other than ream pockets and trim/chamfer and FL size in a neck bushing die. Bullets visually sorted only. Easy peasy.

What mold did you use for the 458 on the left, the flat topped one?

It is a NOE mould. I posted a pic of the mould label so I don't screw it up. This mould was also meant for using in 45-70 so they put a crimp groove on it also. I now just seat the bullet tot he CG in the SOCOM as every once in a while I would have issues with the PC coated bullets hitting the riffling lead. So I originally got this for the SOCOM but found it to be an incredible shooter in my 45-70 lever gun and now it is my primary bullet for shooing in my 45-70 also.

No rhinestones. That would just be another charge the fashion police would add to the list.
