Had to let go of one of my fur babys today

Had to let go of one of my cats this morning. My better half woke me up screaming that there was blood all over the house. My yellow female has been acting weird for the past weeek. I found her under our bed. She was very weak and she had licked all the hair off her bottom. Whenever she moved blood was coming out of her bottom.

I held her for about an hour and she was purring the whole time. Then she just stopped and was gone.

Sorry man. Thats really rough.

Very similar situation here year ago last August. Woke ta Momma all upset and blood all over the bed and floor & my lil doggies head covered in blood. She had cancer in her lower jaw and some kinda abscess broke or burst. Doc "fixed" things up. But she only made it a few months before I made that aweful decision. :(:(:(
This Nov 6, she will be gone for a year. Im still not right about it.

It’s always hard to loose one. My thoughts are with you.

We lost ours a while back. He got hit by a car. The wife and kid have decided that our new kittens will be inside cats. They both took the loss of “Stampy” real hard.

You were with her giving comfort until the end. I know how hard losing a pet can be. Please accept my condolences.

I'm sorry about for you and your family .

No more Familiars for me . I get too close with the hours of work to get dogs ready to hunt , do cute party tricks , and teach plain English , inflection commands . Its not easy when they are 12,14,15 yr old but it's horrible when they're 5 ....... Lost the All Hallows cat last spring , she was without a doubt my master and at 14 years the oldest cat I've ever had .
Dogs with names like Unique , Purdy , and Remington and a cat called Kitty . The is a fixed tom hanging around so maybe Cat will stick ......

Never easy losing a pet. The joy of having them makes it worth the pain we feel when we lose one.

Grew up with cats. Had one that lived to 24 years old. As you worded it, they become more than just pets; they're our babies.
Sure sorry you lost her. Lucky for her to be happy in your arms right up 'til she had to go.

Every pet I lose it seems to hit harder and harder with each one. Kate was a pet that did not like people much. Other than us. She really changed this last year. She would finally let you pick her up and hold her. Before that you had to trick her into letting you lose enough to grab her. She was always a nice cat, but she just did not like the be picked up.

I don't know what actually happened. But I think she will be the last cat I get. I have 2 more and the one female is my baby girl. She has to be everywhere I am when home. If I sit down anywhere in the house she has to be on my lap. When I go to bed she sleeps on top of me the whole night. She will be the hardest yet to lose. I just hope she is around as long as my ffirst cat. 23 years. Here she is ssitting on my lap as I type this.

Thanks everyone. 16357164040861380432440.jpg

That was my Little Girl, definitely my dog. 100% her wrapped around my heart. She Slept above my head. In my lap anything I sat. She sat on the top Of the couch (watching driveway & door, every night I wasnt home. She never begged, rarely barked was never a bother. Man I miss her..

The love they give its worth everything. Ill never be long without a pet. 1883F325-C2F0-4D0A-96BE-C41D3388F687.jpegDB43503C-EC97-46B2-8155-C466287B6C0A.jpegF199EA07-B5EF-4903-BAE3-69A54C9098F1.jpeg3DD190D9-3088-489B-B7B7-4A484F51B2DE.jpeg87525A01-5C69-4E6B-A3CF-EC9AC10B4FAE.jpeg1AA950CA-3537-45DC-877B-40A5F8A76191.jpeg9E13FCFE-42B2-40B1-9361-586DFE396A6D.jpeg2E74A657-84CE-4CB3-ACA2-D4DCEFBCB3D4.jpeg

I never could bury my pets. I have them all cremated. If you look right over Hally's ears you you can see the 2 dogs and 2 cats I have had. They are going with me when I go. Each has their own box and tag with their names.

What's funny is my old lady gets so mad at me sometimes. She thinks I love that cat more than her. Sometimes I do. LOL!

Tommy,
So sorry for you loss...We
love cats and we too have a big orange baby at about 30 lbs!
Our Tabby Tim is the oldest......Then Tangerine ..the large orange tabby and the youngster "Pewter" who we call "Pooter"!
I hate to think we too will be going through the sequence of life and death....But in 44 years of marriage it is inevitable!
We have gone through it more than once!
You gave her love and a family!
Jim

I had time to freshen up Roxys grave site today. Most our pets get buried on Family land in Upstate NY. My pop has been livin there a couple years and has been tending to those.

I run out to get the mail and find a package from one of my oldest friends. He has made me a Rememberance plack. As if it wasnt already a sorrowful day.

We used to bury all of out pets at our grandparents home. There were over 50 pets buried there from the whole family. After they past the land and house was sold off and ADM corn processor bought all the houses and land in this part of the town. They tore everything down and fenced off the 10 city block area. All them pets were gone. ADM went in and did all kinds of dirt work leveling and filling in areas.

And that is why all of my pets are going with me. A friend runs the pet crematorium here. She was waiting for me at the door yesterday for me. She seen that Kate past and knew I would be there right away. Now I just have to find a box I like for her. I have been looking but have not found anything I like. I have a 16" wide 2" thick 12' long Chestnut board. One of my uncles makes a living making custom wood furniture. I might see if he could whip me up a box with this.
