In the hospital

The Dr told me I might be able to get out of the CCU unit if things keep going the same on Monday.
That's great news, Tomme!

It's a shame it's gotten to the point (again) where you have to fight your way uphill to get people to understand the simplest of concepts. In a few years, some other new, brilliant "up-n-coming" will come up with the novel concept of treating "customers" with some respect.

I'm not blaming people who work in medical positions - they're stuck with it too and it's sometimes more frustrating for them than the people they care for. Once we're well again, or, well, the other thing, we're done with it again for a while. They live with it every day.

Hang in there, Tomme.

Good news all around, Tomme. Prayers continue, sir.

Hospitals can really suck. If staff isn't listening to your concerns, raise some hell. That goes double when you are diabetic, because a whole lot of caregiving staff at all levels have only a small notion of what diabetes treatment involves. KeithB's description of diabetes regimens and complications is spot-on.

Its good to hear that you can confirm there's an edge to the woods even if you're not out yet . Still pulling for you .

The staff looks at you weird when you say stuff like " I'm hurting pretty good but Vicodin 5/500s is probably enough , I don't think I want anymore morphine ".
