LBT Molds no more.

I read this morning over on the Reloaders Networks Discord, a post by LeverActionGypsy who was supposed to start working as an apprentice with Veral Smith of LBT Bullet molds this coming January. Verals shop burned to the ground on Christmas Day and was a total loss, Veral stated that at his age there were no plans to rebuild.

Hate to hear this happening to anyone. Christmas just makes it worse. He may rethink the no rebuild after the shock wears off a bit.

Well that's a shame .

I had read that he had really slowed things down and was planning on getting out of the business 6-7 yr ago . It's a damned shame to be forced out by circumstance than to be able to set a last order date and close the doors . I don't guess those in the cue will get their orders.......

Well thats not good. It has been nice that we have a few options for custom molds. And losing one is bad. I hope he is well and I hope he and his family will be able to survive without his shop.

I just bought my first LBT mold on Ebay last week on Friday. A used 4 cavity ...476 440 WLN for $90. Just might make a bunch and then sell the mold.

Well, that might be a plan, but they do not eat anything, and you will never replace it with the same thing. You will get a better return on the mold when you are done casting than some investments these days. If the gun is a "keeper" why not just keep the mold?

I have been checking with a friend in Boundry County, ID and there is nothing about this in the local newspaper. Not saying it is not true, but only one source reported it........ Any others to verify this happening?

I have been looking for something on-line about this and can't find anything either. Kind of makes me suspicious. I hope that is not the end of LBT molds.

All I can say is the gentleman that reported it is a well known individual that I have no reasons past or present to be untruthful. He also knows Veral and his family personally and was going to start working for him. He also stated that after the fire they had no power or internet service, and it might be many days before Veral could shut down the website and get the word out himself.
