I too have 2cav, 4cav & 1cavHP.
Load max Unique in .38Spl cases for use in My 1950's Colt OP. When I shoot up these loads I won't load anymore. They are too hot for Airweight frames. And I don't want My Wife's d!@#$%s relations blowing up My guns, after I'm gone.
This bullet loaded over 5.0grs Unique is a Plus P load now. Only revolver I've run into that won't take this bullet in .357Mag cases is the S&W Model 27/28. Ruger "six" series and Colt "I" frame will handle this long bullet just fine, as will the "K" frame 19/66 & "L" frame guns. Don't think they'll fit in the little 5 shooters.
Shot in a early GP100 too. So I'm surprised to hear someone had a problem.

For some reason Alliant powders do not exist in my area so I loaded half dozen rounds with this 173 grain bullet over 4.5 grains HP38 (which does exist) in a 38 special case and by golly I thought it shot real well for an old man behind the trigger.
I need to work with it a bit more to see. the book says it goes around 850 FPS. I didn't set up the chrony to see.
