NOE has a run of 311202(311299 clone) rn moulds on sale...i guess for the week? Anyway i'm thinking of picking this one up for my new .308 while i continue to wait on a new run of 311175's(311315 saeco clone).

Any reason not to get this one for .308?(I mean the 311202) Looks like the gc should stay just inside the neck. I would love to eventually have both of these bullet moulds in a 2 cavity al. pb and gc version of each.

Anyway, just a heads up on the sale on these at NOE if anyone is interested.

Buddy,

In the past, ( Prior to NOE ) If the Lymam 311299 cast large enough ( and for Lyman sometimes that was " iffy " at best ), it was a pretty good shooter. I have the 2 cav. NOE version of the mold, in g/c and plain base. It is a nice mould.

I have not found it to be as accurate as the SAECO # 315 bullet. That cast bullet in each and every one of my .30 cal. rifles ( all 9 of them ) is amazing.

HHHMMMM, maybe i need to just wait a while longer on the 315 clone. Al has a 2 cav brass gc in stock and a brass 4 cav. pb in the 315. I would really like a 2 cav. al. with the gc and pb all in one mould.
Hope he re-stocks soon! I've been waiting several weeks for that very mould to appear.

Yes, I'd ( and that is just me ) wait on the aluminum mold, 1 g/c, 1 PB.

35 shooter, NOE or Swede is asking for what we want for his next inventory runs and offering 15% off to boot . I don't see any requests over on the NOE site's thread for a 311-175 Saeco 315 clone. He's already run two different molds for me, the RD 311-165 and the 270-163. If you want one, you should post a request for it over there. Hopefully there will be a lot of interest for it.

The 311299 is one of those molds that works well in most 30 cals. I have a 314299 that worked good even sized all the way down to .310".

Thought about that, but gave him a call instead...looks like it may not be much longer. Might be a good idea to post a request too though! Should be some interest in this one as he's been low in inventory on them for a while now.

You know you want it! (311299) or will someday, any way! Yeah, I'm an enabler.
Wouldn't mind having both for sure. Just to get my mind off that very thing, i bought a set of Warne bases and take down rings for the .308 today.
Now for a set of dies and brass! Oh, and i'd like to get a reciever sight for it too lol, although it came with irons on it.

I plan on having a good time with this Zastava once i get the mould(s)?

Make a request of Al Nelson to run the #315. He did for me with this exact mould. If I may suggest, get it made with PB and GC in the same block, He will do that with even number cavities. Mr. Nelson is quite accommodating with special requests.

Hi Guys! Don't know about not being as accurate as the 315, BUT always the but, it is more finicky.
I have shot 1/2" groups with the 299 @ 100 in several of my '06s but the 315 works in everything as Ben says and with out burning much powder to find the sweet spot.
DITTO for the 311332, maybe not ditto as the 311332 works well with a large range of powders and powder weights ( several sweet spots with the same powder), you know the good nodes.

It might be that the 314299 with the larger nose would work in more guns.

The tapered design of the 315 allows for the correct fit in more guns.. three more cents and I'll have a nickel

Heck with NOE sales just buy them all!

Yea, i'm holding out for the 315 to get started with .30 cal. Sounds like it may be the only mould i need for the .308. I'm looking forward to it as i haven't tried any of the loverin types or tapered bullets like the 315 in a rifle before. The design makes a lot of sense to me for sure.

Good Choice you'll love it .
That bullet says," show me the target and I will hit it"
It even works when it should not.
For example mine drops at about .3115 dia. with my alloy,
I size it .313 for my Eddystone, 1917, 30-06 and it performs like crazy.
It should not, undersized bullet, correctly sized gas check.
I guess that's the magic part of bullet casting.

ALLRIGHTY THEN!!! Noe has the 311175(315 saeco) on an inventory run as of today. Once he gets 5 "i wants", he'll start the run. I signed up as soon as i saw it (thanks for the heads up yodogsandman)!!
Can't wait for this one....now to get the crack in the stock fixed on my .308 and get ready for this one!

:)Checked the NOE site on the 311175 inventory buy and there's 5 sign ups already. Al has been notified so it shouldn't be long now as it only took 5 to move this in line. Looks like i'll be breaking that .308 in soon!!!
