Perforation

Was in Walmart this afternoon and they had a sign up at the pharmacy. Free China flu shots, no appointment no waiting. I've been procrastinating on whether to get it or not and decided what the hell. Go in and tell them ok perforate me. Not sick, yet, but a pretty sore arm. Much more so than from other injections in the arm but that's a temporary thing, no biggie. From what I've been hearing those that got sick was more from the second shot than the first. Second one in a few weeks.

Yep. Sore arm from the first. A little sick from the second. Not too bad though. I got the Pfizer.

My second shot was far less painful than the first. No real side effects besides a sore arm.

The shot is always at no charge, the gov’t owns the vaccine.

Yeah well they sure were anxious to get hold of my insurance cards.

I got both Moderna shots early on from my Oncologist. Folks like me who are being treated for cancer have very immunosuppressed bodies. We are the ones most likely to die from virus. We do not get full immunity from the shots, but some immunity is better than none. Folks that say this is just like the flu are not living in my world. I have never know anybody who died of the flu, but know several dozen killed by Covid.

I guess this is no longer a verboten subject? My wife got one shot a couple weeks back due to pressure from her school. She did't exactly get sick, but she does have a huge discolored area covering most on her bicep area. Very, very abnormal and it doens't appear to be fading. I find that concerning to say the least.

My only reaction to the first Moderna shot was from the cold. The girl used up the first bottle on the guy in front of me, my retired primary physician, so they stuff in my arm was -40*. It took a couple of weeks for that muscle tissue to rebuild. Second one four weeks later (snow storm closed the pass so no vaccine delivered on time), I didn't even know it 5 minutes later.

Bird flu is back.

dateline: June 1, 2021 3:23 PM CDT
A 41-year-old man in China’s eastern province of Jiangsu has been confirmed as the first human case of infection with a rare strain of bird flu known as H10N3, Beijing’s National Health Commission (NHC) said on Tuesday.

Many different strains of bird flu are present in China and some sporadically infect people, usually those working with poultry. There is no indication that H10N3 can spread easily in humans.

The man, a resident of the city of Zhenjiang, was hospitalized on April 28 and diagnosed with H10N3 on May 28, the health commission said. It did not give details on how the man was infected.

His condition is now stable and he is ready to be discharged. Investigation of his close contacts found no other cases, the NHC said. No other cases of human infection with H10N3 have been reported globally, it added.

My wife and myself got the Pfizer shots for free.
Zero side affects.
We are 74 and 79 years old.
Too young to die from the china flu.

That's interesting and I hadn't thought about that. I wonder if the shot I got was cold. I've had sore arm muscles from getting perforated before but this covid shot is a bit past a sore muscle.

Side effects of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, compared to other vaccines, seem frequent and broadly unpredictable.

Got my first Pfizer shot January 31, second at end of February. Zero reaction. I think a lot depends on who is getting the jab and who is giving you the jab. I take multiple shots of insulin daily, I can usually find a place where it doesn’t hurt but every so often I hit a nerve just right and ouch and maybe get a small bruise. Can’t blame the insulin now can I? Gotta be the idiot behind the needle, right?

Everybody is a unique meat sack that responds differently to drugs and medicines and trauma. Poke a sterile stainless steel needle in a human body and a certain number of people will react negatively in some way to that procedure.

Wouldn’t surprise me if flu was be down last year. It would be down every year if we’d all mask up. The same basic personal health measures that work on COVID work on flu.

My wife and I got the Moderna shots in early January(1) and February (2). I had no problem with either. The wife got a sore arm on the first shot and a big red inflamed sore spot that lasted more than a week on the second shot. A perfect example of “Different Strokes for Different Folks”.
