Well, I'm committed now LOL. I just bought a full box of the green bar paper, if anyone wants to try some send me your address and I'll send you a care pkg.

You don't get discouraged easily, do you? LOL! I can't imagine what went wrong, I suppose I'm lucky in that I've rarely had a leading episode when working on a PP project. It does happen, though.

The only thing I would do differently is to lubricate the patch with something, anything. Lip balm, bag balm, bearing grease, Vaseline, a soft mix of beeswax and Vaseline, something like that. Just smear a little on the patched bullet with your fingers.

Just to double-check, did you dip the patch in water, lay it on the patch board with one tip hanging off, squeegee the excess water away with your finger, and then stick the tip to the bullet and roll it up tightly? Dry patches don't adhere to the bullet very well and can just peel off the bullet in the throat. Some people have made them sort of work, but I'm not one who was able to.

I did make up a little batch of beeswax Vaseline lube last night to use. I don't use a board, position the wet patch with my fingers and roll it it between my hands. They patch well with my technique I think, I've rolled my own cigs for years, lots of practice.

I pretty certain the leading was residue from the ring episode and I didn't get it all out and was cutting the patches. I'll try again this weekend.

A few yr ago my Dad confided that sometimes when everything lined up just so he would get the itch for a smoke . He quite shortly after getting off the wrong side of a Yamaha 350 double lung 2 stroke when Lucky Strikes were $.35 in the machines. I don't remember ever seeing him with a cigarette, pipe or cigar except for 1 picture from Christmas 1968 . I'd have been about 1 1/2 then . Never picked up the habit ,I tried a few times just to say I'd quit but I couldn't get started.

I have a couple rifles that won't shoot a wet wrap for beans but 1 is completely happy with a (by the book) fat core and a trip through a finish die for the lube slicking "iron on" ...... what can I say it's rooshin . The other gets no sizing and dry wrapped to the ogive with some Darrs for slickum' .
When I wet roll I use a nylon cutting board for the finish roll . Seems like the wet wrapped all have to visit the finish sizer 1 hardly touches yet it makes a difference. .......
