My P-89 keeps right up with my SIG P-226, in both calibers (30 Luger and 9mm Luger) LOTS of small varmints have fallen to its bark in both calibers. Mine must be a Wednesday gun.I worked in Ruger's engineering dept. during development of the P85. Not known for its target accuracy but ammo wise it ate anything. A bunch were made for export in .30 Luger. I fired demos of it at the SOF convention in Las Vegas as well as with the Mini Thirty which appeared at the same time.
If you cast and size carefully--or use better-grade bullets than bulk FMJs--factory-issue firearms can surprise you with their accuracy. My P-89 is one such pistol.
