It is a mix of the American and the Precession target. Accuracy is hit and miss. They need to tighten up the chamber and not a Saami spec chamber.

Thats what I am reading. 250/300$ more for the CZ. But ya also get Nicer walnut stock.
Is barrel threaded to receiver on Ruger? Re barreling may be option...

I dont care for the AR looking Rugers.

Only ruger that is a switch barrel is the Precision Target. It uses a AR15 style barrel nut and shoulder. But the American Rimfire uses the same shank as the PT model minus the shoulder. The American uses a pin that is cross pinned. I am going to order a barrel for the PT to fit to my regular American rimfire model later this summer. I should be able to turn off the shoulder and press it into the receiver. Then pin it. Also have to get a headspace gauge also. But I could also just set it and use bolt shims to set headspace.

IMG_3746.jpegIMG_3747.jpegIMG_3754.jpegGot new wood for my Marlin 880 sq today.

Needed quite a but of fitting. Wasn't difficult.

I also fit a Bisley adj recoil pad. HUGE improvement in feel!

(Pics should be here)

Out of the box issues. But more or less expected.

As you will see, fitment of front stud. (Only vertical bedding part) Fits very snugly.

I have allot of clearance for trigger parts. But mine isn't stock, ;) so thats part of that "understand" part. :)

Barrel fits well enough once everything was whiskered.

Only a few sharp edges. Steel wool handled that. Ill coat it once all done with bedding.

Ill be pillar bedding ta start. I also need ta make new screws and gonna order a metal trigger guard.

Brother has one and he had to send it back to Ruger to have warranty work. Seems the barrel cracked (rifling cracked off in the chamber area) and had to be replaced. It's pretty much a tack driver now.

Found loose action screws and scope base screws.

Barrel was cleaner then I have ever been able to clean a barrel... I found much goop under thread protector. So, its been shot... a-lot. Hopefully, Range tomorrow.

I shot the Ruger Precision today. Not in-depth but I shot a goodly amount of different ammo brands. WORST was just over 1@" best hasn't been measured yet, but was about 1/2". All @ 50 yards.

I pretty happy with my new rifle!

I shot my cz today. It was very windy but it shot very well for trying to time the target to stop swinging in the wind. I found out I had to shoot about 10 rounds of each type before trying to shoot for a group. It was that way with each type of ammo I was trying. So I just loaded 10 and shot them in the dirt. Then shot for a group. If I did not do that then the first 3 shots were all over. Then each shot after would start to all come together. I then tried to let the gun cool completely and went back to shoot another group with the same ammo to see if it would have flyers. It did not. So it must need to lay down the lube that is on the bullet to shoot best. Kinda reminds you of using ALOX for lube to get it laid down before it will shoot.
