.30 cal. PLINKER bullets from my new Lee 6 Cav.

I got my 6 cavity Lee, 93 gr. 311 " mould today.
Bullets are dropping at .313". Nice and round.
However with clip on WW's, mine drop at 86 grs., not 93 grs.

I bought this to feed my 32 H&R Mag. , T/C Contender .
However, the more I look at it, the more I think it might have short range applications in some of my other .30 cal. cartridges.

I want to substitute this 93 gr. RN for the full wadcutter in the loads that you see below. I think it may have some promise.

That IS a nice-looking "bullet machine" by Lee. I do have an older 2-cav Lee, their 100 grain RN. It won't quite make .313" for a couple of my 32 revolvers, but has done well in 30/30 and 30-06 for plinkers to 1300 FPS. These also work well in my 30 Carbine Blackhawk @ .309" from 900-1200 FPS. They might go as well at faster velocities, but I haven't tried that (yet).

The 100-grain 2R is a shooter. If the 93 1R is even half as good it will be a winner.

I like those Lee commercial moulds a whole lot myself, in fact I ran a 20-lb pot of 358-125s last night in about an hour and a half without getting in a hurry.

Yes, I too love the 100 gr. Lee RN.
Like you, I hope the 93 gr. will do as well.

By the thread title I thought you had automated a master caster or something.

When I run my Lee 6 bangers hard I get about 2200 bullets in about 4 hours. I wouldn't claim mine are as high of quality as yours but, they drop a mess of bullets for their cost, so long as, you use handles on the mold.

I think the 6 cav. Lee's are a good buy.
They may not be the best mold out there, but for your investment ( In my case, $47 shipped ) , you're getting a good return on your money.

I have several.
358-125
358-200
401-175
452-255
There's another but I can't remember what it is.....

I will say that that any of these will empty a pot in short order and do make huge piles of bullets quick . I don't know what kind of a count per hour I get but there aren't many rejected . At 110-140 pours / hr that'll get you well up toward 700/hour . With the big mould I'm empty in 35 min and the little one 55 min but that generally will hold me 7-8 months .

Have 7-8 6 cav lees, and for production vs time it is really hard to beat them
particularly at the price.

Did you have any luck with this light bullet in any of your 30cals? Have you tried the TL314-90-SWC? I was thinking that one or both might make decent plinker bullets for 30-30s and the 32-20.
