Was in the 80's, little to no wind today. To hot to walk to the 100 and back, so again settled for the 50 yd line.
I bought the old single cav 311241 Ideal years ago. I searched ebay for a long long time for 311440 based on
Paco Kelly's recommendation as a hammer hunting bullet for 100 yds etc. Never had a sniff at one, so when Al produced one, I jumped on it a year or so back.

Todays Results with heavy bbl Sav 308, 4x12 Bushnell

311241 PB, .310, Lars 2500, 6gr. BE, 7rds (all I had loaded). .865" for 7rds, 6 at .8" Have never tried this bullet in anything other than 30-30 as a plinker. That has obviously been a mistake.

311440, GC, .310 BR w/Bll overcoat, 33gr of Varget: 5 rds, 1.225, 4 of the 5 in .875"

Will load a batch of the 440's for 100 yd testing, and will load up some 30-30 with it also (when I shoot off enough of the loaded to have some empty brass.

I was in the pistol pits shooting some lousy 45 ACP ammo. The rest of the bullets will get melted down, not loaded.

KHornet,
I'm assuming you've Typo'd 311410 for 311440. The former is plainbase and the latter GC. 311410 over 33gr Varget would be ridiculous short of a 1-20" twist.

I wondered, that little 311410 would be a screamer with that much Varget.

Nice shooting. I'm interested to see what you come up with @100 yds. with the 440 bullet and the varget load, looks like good potential there. Sounds like the BE load should be fun to shoot.
