350 testing

I was shooting 358156gc today in my 350 legend.
Turned her up to full blast speed with w296 powder.
They shot ok,and went 2480fps.
I loaded 5 of the lyman 358637(the bevel base bullet),
They went about the same speed,,went down and retreaved my 50 yd target...
8.5/11 paper,,,none of the 5 hit the paper!!!!
I already new this bullet shoots like crap,past 1600fps,figured id atleast have them spattered on the paper,at 2500.
No evidence where any of them hit my berm either!!
Maybe they are still flying around in outerspace orbit,,
I love this hobby.

Also,something else that intrests me...
My 358156 is an old ideal,and drops bullets at about .361.
When i size these down,to .357,there is hardly any lube in the grooves,because the grooves are pretty much swaged shut.so this bullet runs out of a rifle barrell,and has never gave me any leading in the bore.basically,the bullet is naked,but shoots very tight in a rifle,and shoots clean.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
You could also try sizing & lubing the bullets to .360, then going for .358. The lube already being in the grooves should remain in place. Perhaps a light tumble lube over that might improve your results although you seem to already be happy with the bullets performance.

I have never seen anyone get any SWC bullet to shoot in the 350. Bring them down to around 1800fps and they might group.

It runs 150ish gr with 16-2400 flawless,1600fps ish.
14-2400 wont run.
Its a ruger ar,,dont know how long the innards are,in it.

Same here. I shot a LOT of gas checked and plain based bullets in my 350 Legend. Never had any leading at all.

I swear the port was carbine on the one I looked at. Ruger says pistol

Even the warp speed 2500fps lyman 147 bb,,never leaded,and the 5 shots never hit the paper,at 50 yards!

Tried the aa1680 today,,,wow!
All groups under an inch,between 1800 and 2020 fps..with more case capacity to use,,unlike 4198,,,think ive found my new favorite 350 powder.
