Is anyone shooting a 358 Winchester with ~250-260 cast bullets?

I have a NEI 358 225 mold (kinda special, as it came from the Bob Levine estate)/not cast/used yet. Rifle is a BLR. Not finding any specific cast data for this heavy a bullet. Know I can extrapolate from 250ish jacket data to start, but looking for specific cast data results if anyone has it. TIA

This is a dismal 18 round group at 4.2" . It does however have 2 3 shot clusters just under .4 ctc and a 5 shot just under an inch ctc at 50 yd for the sole intent of forming converted 308 brass . That is the 360-238xcb over 8.5unique because that's what the measure was set up for . My 4C NOE drops 2 ea PB and GC

I have also used the 35-250 at 2100 fps with off books 4350 . I didn't do well with 4198 or H322 jacketed book data there . 2100 fps is into jacketed data for 250s .
The 98 pattern rifle has a 4" mag well so lengths are a non issue .

yep.
lot's and lot's of RL-19 using jacketed data.
other than that your usual standy-by unique and 2400 loads work just fine.
it seems like it wouldn't because of the weight, but the extra bore diameter takes up the pressure.

...Rifle is a BLR...

If you're ever faced with saving what you can carry out the door in a really big hurry,... GRAB THAT ONE!

Until I was able to admit to myself that I'll never likely get a chance to hunt again, let alone out of state, I had a VZ24 action slated for a 20" 358W as my "big" center-fire CB rifle. 357 Mag does everything I need right now, but I could make a 358W BLR do a LOT of stuff a real rifle is called upon to do.

About ten years ago, I bit the bullet to pay what it took to get a Savage 99 Brush Gunu in .358. Shoots cast very well. The NOE clone of the RCBS 200 grain flat point and 40 grains of IMR4320 was my deer load, worked fine.

If I was smart, that would be the only deer rifle I'd ever use again. About as close to the perfect deer rifle for me and the terrain and tactis I hunt.

The Browning BLR chambered in 358 Win was the first deer rifle I bought for my self shortly after high school in the early 1980's. I shot quite a number of deer and a few pigs a few more coyotes and one black bear with that rifle. I dont remember selling it but regret it.
I have a Savage 99 in 308 I have often considered having re barreled. It needs a new for-end also my father butchered it, one hunting season. By carving a schnabel and flattening the sides. I think it looks like a adoration. He also pruned the barrel back and had it crowned to 20".

I have a 99e in .308 I've been thinking of doing this with. It would be slightky better than the Brush Gun in that it would have a pistol grip stock rather than straight and the trigger safety instead of the tang. Might just do it one day.

My first buck I ever killed was with a waffle top Marlin .35 Remington. Love the cartridge, but a .358 does anything it'll do and more plus brass is easier.

I have one of the Mossberg 800 series rifles from the 70s the manlicher stocked one in .308. Decent rifle, but the stock was cracked and repaired by a former owner and the bore seems et ched, probably from someone using ammonia based bore cleaner. Been thinking for a while about having it rebored to .358 and mounting a receiver sight on it as a woods deer rifle.

in my 35/30-30, i use a 200gr RCBS FNGC going 1726fps and its good enuff for taking close cover deer. Bullshop has a 275gr WFN GC in .360". i was thinking about buying some, but the 200gr shoots so good!!! he also has a 275gr WFN GC in .368", it does kill deer.
