Interesting, but overall too depressing to spend the time on. I have an
acquaintence in RSA who I visited for a few days when I hunted there,
and he was forced to make these sort of choices and we discussed it some
when he was being rousted by the antigun folks in their new govt,
forcing him to get every more expensive and restricted licenses to
keep his 8 or 10 guns. Really sad to see, sad to talk about. Eventually
had to thin the herd, one I remember was a Colt Lightning which had
been in his family for many, many years. He hated getting rid of it, but
it wasn't as useful as some others that he wanted. And the market is
extremely low priced, they get nothing. Make some money, set up
to import used rifles from RSA.
I have spent a lifetime buying guns I wanted and liked, a few more than 5.
I also turned down a couple of
really interesting job opportunities in
a certain Left Coast state because of their gun laws. Nope, even thinking
about it isn't fun for me.
