7X57mm Rifle for my grandson Trevor

Bret4207

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Ben, my sole 7x57 is an old '93 or '95, I forget which. Outside of some Loverin 140-ish stuff, all it's ever shot is 160gr and above, cast and jacketed. I think they are beans for the 7x57.

Karamojo Bell, professional elephant hunter killed hundreds of elephants with the 275 Rigby which is identical to the 7X57. I think he used steel jacketed round nosed bullets of 175 grains.
I have a Winchester M70 Featherweight 7X57 I bought for my wife. She used it only once, because she only went deer hunting only once. She is just not a hunter.

Every hunter in the family, however has kill at least one (some of us several, one grandson got 2 with one shot) deer with that rifle, son, three grandsons and a granddaughter.

All of my grandsons now have their own 7mm rifles, all 7mm08 because of availability of rifles in that caliber vs the 7X57.

I love 7s. But yet to have a nice (custom) 7x57 bolt gun. 6.5x55s been in the family/safe since 1986 Germany - currently have 3. I LOVE the Original 6.5. imo - not a lot of diff in the 6.5/7... Shot the custom FN in 6.5 over the weekend. Very nice rifle.
