In my search for all known versions of Ideal & Lyman 357446 moulds I have a number of duplicates that are no longer necessary. If you're not familiar with 357446, it was Ideal/Lymans "standard" mould design for 357 mag. for almost 60 years. It was discovered early on that Ideals previous mould 357443 wasn't a good performer on large game, and there was no real consumer demand for it, to use modern terms. Enter 357466, a 162 grain design that was likely more popular that Keiths 357429, primarily because 357446 could be seated normally in the then-new S&W 357 Magnum revolvers. Anyway, Ideal/Lyman sold a lot of these things. My experience with them has been that they need to be pushed hard for best accuracy. Again, Shipping is not included in these prices, I will combine shipments as the room in a small USPS "Flat Rate" box allows. Shipping is $10.20 per box, if you're in Alaska or Hawaii please PM me first so I can verify the cost of postage. I'll leave these up here for a week, then move any survivors to auction. Please ask your questions in advance. If you want any of them, please post an "I'll take it", then send me an immediate PM' Payment by USPS Postal MOs only please.

***SPF***Lyman 357446 DC 162 gr. Block #430. This is one of the more sought after versions, with the heavy front driving band. It has mold prep on it and is a little on the worn side. I also see a rough spot by the front driving band. The price is adjusted accordingly. SPF to Matt.

The older 357446 are dandy molds in every 38 & 357 revolver we have tried them in.
Somewhere along the line there were people who complained about accuracy. I haven't seen this issue myself, and this seems inconsistent with a mould that was announced around 1939, and stayed in production until 1993 or so. The old Ideal Handbooks used to have a "Pet Loads" section where people would write in to Ideal/Lyman with their favorite loads. 357446 was always mentioned with both hot and mild loads.

For some reason that I've never been able to fathom, My Dad didn't care for the #357446. Just preferred the #358156, #358477 & #358429.
I've used it over the years, still have a 1cav. Guess I'll never know why Dad didn't like it.
