IMG_1019.JPG IMG_1017.JPG Awhile ago I bought an Accurate 4 cavity AL mold. 2 cavities were cut in .360" and 2 in .452"

The 360 is a 185gr RNFP and the 45 is a 200gr TC.

I wanted a nice PB heavy "smacker" for my revolvers and a 200 plinker for my Kimber 1911.

This is only the second time I've used this mold. It worked a bit better today than the first time. I bet it works even better next time.

Those should work quite well. Good looking bullets. Tom sure makes a nice mould.

He does indeed. Anymore I'm willing to spend just a bit extra and have him cut me a mold.

You know exactly what you are going to get.

it might just be my eyes.
but is there a ring in the middle of those lube grooves?

maybe my color settings it just looks like a slightly raised ring.
at first I thought it was an undersized drive band with 2 small lube grooves on either side

I see it, it's an optical illusion from the flash. Look on the right edge of the bullet, you can see the grooves are normal but on the left side they look like there's a strip of metal wrapped around the bottom of the groove.

I really want to shoot my 1911 more. I will make an effort. I just really HATE policing brass......
Guess I'll just drag a tarp out when I go. I don't shoot this pistol nearly enough....
I bought it before I got married back in 1998. Think I paid $599 new for it.

good price for a Kimber.
I have been slowly picking at a load for my 45's that just plops the brass out to my right a couple of feet.
I worked it out in my 9mm's and they just make a nice little pile about 2' to my right.
it seems as I get close to the nice pile I lose accuracy or the load shoots too low.
so I keep circling the loop..700-x and clay's are next on the list.
but I really hate looking for brass in the winter so the revolvers get their load stuff worked on instead.

My Kimber throws brass literally every which way. Usually one out of every magazine dings me in either the forehead or the bridge of the nose. Some to straight up, once in a while one goes over to the left (don't ask me how), and what goes to the right can go forward of the shooting line or over my right shoulder. Needless to say it doesn't come out much for play time, I don't own a tarp big enough to reclaim the brass.

As far as brass throwers go, I am yet to see anything worse than my LCP
380 Ruger. Tosses them in a 360 degree area with out any rhyme or
reason, regardless of load.

if you wanna see an anomaly with brass ejection you should see my wife throw 25-20 brass about 15' to the left and somewhere behind her with my little model 92 carbine..
she can't manage to toss 3 cent 38 special like that.

You should get her a sombrero and make her wear it when she shoots the .25-20. I have no clue where you even start to look for replacement brass. In my years of scrounging I've come up exactly one case on the ground, and there were tear tracks all over from the person who had been looking for it.

A cpl ranges ago....think heavy earth moving equipment.I'd cleared a really nice range at my parents house.Even built a shoot shack, wood stove included. My mom got mad cause, dad would go down there, lite up the stove and recline in the barkerlounger picked up at the dump....reading his Zane Gray novels.

Anyway,a fashioned screenwire "catcher" was sitting in exactly the right spot,to catch Gold cup empty's into a 5 g bucket.

Nowadays, the kids just get to listen to the,"back in the day" stories' and spread out tarps?Outdoors.

And this with....the fact that we have an indoor range. It's like....I'm talkin, but they ain't gettin it?The brass keeps going in ___ direction....uhh,

"Stuff" must be too much distraction from the younger set these days?Seriously.Shoot man,we were blastin whenever and however with full time biz's and 4+ youngsters to feed.Just sayin, with no direction to Waco....what do you want? What seems to be the hold up?

Nice looking bullets!

Would love to see results with the 360's when you get around to loading them.

32-20 brass is luckily close enough but it has a thinner rim.
unfortunately the little bit of that, that I have, is reserved for use in the 30 carbine revolver.
I have a little stash of the stuff and 3-4 boxes of the Winchester ammo I got before it went to $65 a box.

Well, eventually I'd try some. I still need to try a couple 180gr flavors Paul gave me sometime ago. Have some fire formed brass prepped...

My AR on the other hand is a different story all together. It's a bare bones el cheapo S&W mp15 sport. It throws brass a good fifteen feet but it will put a 30 round mag into a nice little pile no more than 3feet in diameter. This amazes me.....o_O
