A new piece of setup hardware

Lately I have been making parts of various types that have one feature in common - the need to cut a bevel or angle on them somewhere. For some parts it is easy enough to turn the vise on the table and use the edge of a milling cutter to generate the surface. As the parts get bigger the endmill needed has to get larger and longer. There is a limit.

After checking out what was available on eBay I bought an adjustable angle plate with a 10" x 7" table with three T- slots. It can be adjusted from horizontal to vertical (in one direction only). There is a crank handle that is used to adjust the table which prevents it from going vertical in both directions. Both the manual mill and the Haas CNC mill have tables that are 10"+ wide so I can bolt it across either table without it hanging over the edges. I have several mill vises that can be bolted to the working surface along with all kinds of other fixturing - collet holders, V-blocks, etc.

The surprising thing was the price - less than $90 with free shipping. I ordered it Monday, so five days for delivery. I'm looking forward to using it.

I almost bought one the other day. I just have a hobby mill but if I can set something like that up on my mill it would greatly help in drilling/boring angled holes. Let me/us know how it works out Keith. Thanks for posting.

My manual mill is larger than a standard Bridgeport. Mine has a 10 x 54 table, “standard” BPs have a 9 x 42 or 49 table. If you have a smaller mill they make 5 x 7 version of what I got.

Price isn’t bad at all. I haven’t used mine yet, haven’t even cleaned off the Chinese cismoline so I have no idea of how accurately it’s made. But it sure looks good, and it gives me another setup option.

Size of the typical EZ Trac.

I have an articulating "angle plate" that does a little of what your articulating "table" does. It's rarely, if ever a mistake to invest in tooling.
