And I thought the nasty laminate on the 336w was bad. As for Mossberg, I won't buy.

Dang, Rick you give the guy an opportunity to get the revolver he's after. He gets it and comes back here and slams you and, Brad says he's not tactical! Sounds like some tactical operations to me, lol.

Rick came out OK. He made a profit AND he got to meet me and my wife. What more does a guy need?

Anyone else long for the Savage 99? It seems the first requirement for any new rifle is that it be clunky, plastic, black or some hideous "camo" paint job and UGLY. Savage was decades ahead of it's time with the plastic stocked Model 24 or Armalite with the AR-7. Ugly then, ugly now.

I thought Savage was decades ahead of his time in the realm of ugly, clunky rifles when he produced the Model 99. FIL's estate has one and I absolutely hate it. If it had any rifling in the last 6" of barrel we'd be able to sell it, but it's a total sewer pipe and I could buy five more in shooting condition for what it would cost to rebarrel.

Maybe San Antonio will do a "gun buyback" someday.

Ian, you heathen! Must be beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder because the 99 simply shines in comparison for me.

Ian, think of the possibilities!
A 99 Savage in 300 BLK with a 14.5 in barrel and a can! You DO have a nearby friend with a lathe and the skills to rebarreling it, don't you?

I was thinking of whacking the barrel off at about 16" with a chop saw, stick-welding a 3/4"-12 BOSS hydraulic fitting on the end, and screwing a $200 oil filter on it. It's a .30-30, perfect for subsonics. I'm a heathen, I know.
